Discover Belize; an Official publication of Belize, 2006
In settings inspired by Mother Nature, couples can chose from rain forest, jungle, rivers, waterfalls, beautiful gardens filled with lush tropical foliage, or coconut palms serving as the marriage canopy on white sandy beaches.
Most resorts have wedding coordinators on staff to assist brides and grooms with planning and preparations for the ceremony. Both religious and civil ceremonies can be performed at any location in the country. A Belizean wedding is legal everywhere in the world and the marriage does not have to be re-registered upon returning home.
Requirements for obtaining a marriage license in Belize are simple. The following is a list of necessary documents:
License
One or both couples must be in Belize for three days prior to applying for a marriage license. A Justice of the peace must sign the marriage license. A license can be obtained in one of two ways.
