Lake Arenal & Playa Junquillal, Guanacaste
This area remains one of the least-developed tourism regions in Costa Rica, but not for lack of resources or charms. It does, after all, have Lake Arenal, a man-made lake with an area of 86 sq. km (34 sq. miles), making it the largest lake in Costa Rica, surrounded by rolling hills that are partly pastured and partly forested. The perfect cone of Arenal Volcano lies at the opposite (east) end of the lake from the small towns of Tilarán and Nuevo Arenal. The volcano's barren slopes are a stunning sight from here, especially when reflected in the waters of the lake. The northwest side of Lake Arenal is a dry region of rolling hills and pastures, distinctly different from the more lush landscape near La Fortuna.

     The lake has great fishing and windsurfing, and offers a scenic drive around the eastern shore with excellent lake and volcano views. Boating, canoeing, riding, mountain biking and hiking are all popular pastimes. There are many lodges around the lake to provide accommodations for visitors. The lake's other claim to fame is its rainbow-bass fishing. These fighting fish are known in Central America as guapote and are large members of the cichlid family.

Development I & II

     Development I is a site with an octagon model home and a total of 19 lots located on the property. At this site, the developer will sell lots with homes. However, they will set aside a limited number of lots in which they will sell the lot only for which the buyer agrees to start home construction within 8 months after signing the sales contract.

    Development II offers lots with beautiful views of Lake Arenal. The developer is selling lots only at this location. Buyers are free to build one of their octagon homes on the site or build another style home (but it must meet certain requirements). No financing is available for purchases of lots only.


Playa Junquillal Beachfront Homes

     The property is located in Playa Junquillal (pronounced hoonk-e-yal) and is surrounded on three sides by the Pacific Ocean, the Andamojo River and a green reserve. We are offering 12 homes similar in octagon design to the houses at Development I. There will be a swimming pool and a boat dock (pending approval) as part of the common area. 

     Each home will feature a two car breezeway garage under each of the homes. Each home will be built upon a raised piling style foundation to optimize the ocean, river and reserve views. 

    The homes at Playa Junquillal are built in the shape of an octagon as are the homes at Development I. It has a style and ambiance that will truly assist you in your pursuit of the ultimate relaxed environment. The floor plans encourage a free flow of individual movement with the circular shape naturally eliminating any sharp corners and encourages creative furniture placements and traffic patterns.      Sound moves around the outside of the home the same way the wind moves, allowing the external world to breeze past, creating a feeling of serenity within the home. Inside your octagonal home, sharp corners have been eliminated, which limits the “echo affect” often created by right angles within a confined space. This results in a more pleasing interior sound environment creating, in affect, a “quiet zone”.

Property Management

     There will be a management company on the property hired by the HOA which will handle: landscaping, all rentals, and concierge services.

    You can rent the property as long as it is accordance with the homeowners approved by-laws. The management company will assist you with your arrangements.

     There are homeowner fees to allow these amenities. They are estimated to be $200.00 per month per homeowner.
